…stay rooted in Christ.

@ Any Cost?

Today I write because I feel a need to begin a conversation about a trend I see in our culture. I recently was enjoying what I now consider my favorite snack of all time, at least for now, the Clif Bar, specifically the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, and the bar spoke to me. It spoke not only to my belly with angelic tone but  also the story on the back…

As I read this I cant help but have this sense that Gary puts an emphasis on caring for others and the surroundings. He says “I don’t beleive in reaching the top at any cost-in climbing or in business.” This speaks powerfully to the life Christ has called us to and I would add that we as Christians should lead the way in not reaching the top no matter what the cost. Jesus spent His life exemplifying what it meant to be humble and serve others.

In John 13:5 Jesus washes His disciples feet and says “I have set you an example, that you should do as I have done for you.” There are many other examples where Jesus stood up for those who mistreated and overlooked in society and lastly He himself demonstrated a true love by dying the death of a criminal which is the greatest example of humility.

I see a trend in our culture of selflessness and consciously living in a way that treats others fairly. Not taking more than we need and especially not at the cost of others whether it be in business or in the food we eat. This small and subtle trend is rooted in the fact that when God told us to treat others as you want to be treated, something resonates within our soul and says this is truth and it is good to live in such a way.

I and others embrace this trend and hope it continues to grow. My prayer is that people would begin to see that Christ’s love for us is great and that faithful, selfless living would come from a deep relationship with the source of our living and being.

Lets talk more on this. If you have something to add feel free to dialogue about anything.

When you said “our culture” you mean American culture. American culture is highly influenced by Christianity because the New America started because of Christianity. And for that many people were massacred in the hopes of good intentions, and hopes of spreading Christianity. But this ‘Christianity’ supports sexism, race supremacy, and that’s the reason why in the 1940s, the KKK was a huge impact on America.

The number 1 reason why you are a Christian is because you grew up as 1. If you grew up in India, you’d be Hindu. If you grew up in Sri Lanka, you’d be Buddhist. If you grew up in Afghanistan, you’d be Muslim.

Feel free to delete this post, seeing that it degrades your community, because god told you to.

    • Did you read my post? Because your comments seem far off topic.

You bring up some good points that are sad about our world and some were in the name of God but that does not mean they are from the Bible or even OK by God.

There are Christians all around the world, dont you think that is a generality to say that just because you live somewhere you have to worship as the majority does?

I appreciate your comments and hope we can dialogue more about it.

Maybe read the post again and see what I believe the heart of God is all about. Love for all creation.
